Procedure
For highly qualified employment, you must obtain a visa for obtaining a residence permit. This visa is valid for two entries and for four months, during which time its holder must apply to the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) for a residence permit - The EU Blue Card.
A residence visa does not automatically grant you a right of residence but allows you to enter Portugal for the purpose of applying for a residence permit, when the requirements are met.
You must prove that you have an adequate consignment, a work contract or a written proposal.
Visit your local Portuguese consulate to request the appropriate visa.
